Research Interests:
Neural Systems

Professor Abbas' projects and professional interests at the Center for Adaptive Neural Systems apply neural engineering techniques towards problems in medical rehabilitation. Current projects are directed at the design of neuromuscular stimulation systems for use by individuals with spinal cord injury or after stroke, design of systems to provide sensory feedback from prosthetic limbs, and developing neuromotor therapy for people with Parkinson’s disease and for children with cerebral palsy.
